Hand Blown Art Glass
Artist: Laurie Thal Jackson Hole, WY

Around 1970, I purchased these two bears directly from an Ainu artist who lived in Hokkaido. He initially did not want to sell these hardwood carvings because they were an integral part of his daily spiritual life. He agreed to sell them to me, only after I convinced him that I appreciated their spiritual importance and that I was not just looking for a souvenir.
He carved these around 1960.
